Teacher Training Courses
The English-medium Instruction training course is designed for professors at the University of Pavia who teach their (non-linguistic) courses in English.
The "Teaching to Teach" project is designed to improve the teaching skills of university faculty, aiming to enhance the quality of instruction and promote an innovative teaching approach. It employs the latest educational theories, emphasizing active learning and models of reflective, experiential, and transformative learning. Key objectives of the project include:
- Equipping participants with essential skills to design, manage, communicate, and assess teaching and learning activities in the classroom;
- Creating a professional community that continuously develops new teaching approaches and methods through interaction and collaboration among its members.
The training program is structured into modules that include both in-person and remote meetings, featuring an interactive approach and practical workshops to test new teaching techniques and tools. Although primarily intended for junior fixed-term researchers, it is open to all faculty interested in improving their teaching and professional skills.
"Teaching to Teach" is vital for professors and researchers who often develop their teaching methodologies in isolation. The program aims to create an opportunity for discussion and sharing of practices and tools to improve the quality of teaching and learning, especially important for junior researchers with limited teaching experience.
